Projects
Safety and bike awareness program
CORE ISRAEL cycling club is developing a cycling awareness program, that focuses on “sharing the road” and maintaining a minimum distance of “1” meter or more between cyclist and vehicles. Educating both cyclist and motorist on how to properly travel together is paramount to safety. Using lights on both the front and rear on the bicycle, high visibility clothing equipment, are just a couple concepts of safety to implement.
Various public sources such as local businesses and emergency responders, will be working together to bring about real safety to cyclist in Israel. CORE ISRAEL cycling club hopes to create a real working model that can be used throughout the country and reduce the amount of accidents related to cyclist/motorist on the road.
Develop a culture of cycling for all communities in the south
CORE ISRAEL cycling club is working on developing a culture of cycling with various City and State entities to bring about an all inclusive model for cyclist. Encouraging various government entities and community involvement, will be instrumental for this concept to come into fruition.
Whether you are an avid cyclist, beginner, young or old, cycling is for everyone. CORE ISRAEL cycling club, working with local communities, will develop programs and events for al persons to attend.
Training seminars, lectures, and cycling expos
As part of any good cycling program, it is imperative to engage in continuation education within the sport. Yehuda “Packman” is a master coach and will be providing seminars, lectures, and latest articles of training, that he wrote, in a formal setting. Lectures etc. will be followed by a light vegan healthy snack, meet and great session, where cyclist in the area will get to know each other and forge new friendships “on and off the bike.”
CORE ISRAEL cycling clubs projects include holding bicycle events with local businesses, bike shops, and community leaders.
Development of a Masters Road Racing team
CORE ISRAEL cycling club is developing a Masters Road Racing Team to represent the south of Israel in local and international events. It is also a goal of the club to hold a cycling race in the south on a monthly basis, during the Road Racing season. Internationally, CORE ISRAEL hopes to meet with various Jewish communities, promote the south of Israel as a place to live, work and enjoy cycling on some of the best kept roads in Israel. Members of the team will be ambassadors of southern Israel, sharing experiences, and create a better understanding of southern Israel’s array of opportunities.
